Persistent Low Grade Fever with occasional Abdomen Pain After Meals

by mom
(connecticut)

My 12 yr old daughter has had a low grade fever for 30 days. She has always had a sensitive stomach and complains of stomach ache after most meals but goes away quickly. After returning from a trip to the Dominican Republic in July , she had a cold for a few days, felt good for a few days and then developed a high fever for 1 day with dizziness and headache. For last 3 weeks, it has been just low grade fever from 99 to 100.2 throughout the day. Blood work, urine and stool are "normal". Any ideas. Presently giving her probiotics and Igg 2000 for immune system.

Low Grade Fever & Ear Infections
by: Grandma

I never heard again from the mom that wrote to me about this problem. I agree, it does sound like they are treating the symptoms.

I doubt if you're dealing with a parasite but I just don't know. Again, I'd suggest you try to find a Health Care Professional in your area and get your child on some herbs, if nothing else to build up her immune system. Until then if it was my child I'd take her completely off of all dairy products. I know that might sound radical to you but I had to do this with my son when he was about your child's age and whenever he ate dairy, especially milk he'd get sick, lost weight, and had terrible health and emotional issues. Once he was off dairy for about a week I noticed the biggest difference in him. It took awhile but finally he's as healthy as I can expect for a 25 year old.

Go to the button on the left that reads "Allergy Wisdom" and look for the link "Dairy Allergy" and read what I've learned. Or go to www.nomilk.com you'll be amazed at what you'll learn there.

Low grade fever and occasional stomach pain
by: @ Wits End in CT

PLEASE did the other Mom in CT ever find out what was wrong with her 12 year old?

My 5.5 year old has exactly same symptoms right down to the seeming to be better and then catching something and being very sick for short while. She just had surgery (Second one - she had T& A when she was 2.5) on her ears. When she "recovered from her weeks of low grade fever and went back to school she would catch whatever the latest thing going around was. You name it she caught it.
The latest cold virus she caught landed in her ears and they would not clear up so the end result was another surgery.

Although her Pediatrician is excellent, I am definitely getting the vibe from them they don't know what else to check or do. She has recovered from surgery I spoke with the operating ENT today who says she should not have any ear pain or low grade fever at this point and I should take her back to her Pediatrician. UGH

This is ridiculous, we just keep treating the symptoms! She looks and feels like she did over 6 weeks ago when all this began. She has not been out of the country. So i do not have any obvious cause to think parasite but I am truly at my wits end. Please advise and thank you.

Try turmeric
by: Anonymous

The infection may be too mild in the patient. So I suggest that you give warm milk with sugar and a table spoon of turmeric. stir well and drink hot. preferably drink empty stomach. Try this twice the patient is expected to get well in 24 hours. This I a common medicine and has no side effects what so ever.

Low Grade Fever and Stomach Ache
by: Grandma

Hello Concerned Mom,

I'm sorry it took awhile to get back to you, I'm dealing with a family emergency that has been taking a lot of my time and attention.

Yes, I would be concerned too with a low grade fever for that long. I'd suggest you find a Natural Health Practioner. Even though her blood work and stool sample is coming back OK that still doesn't mean she didn't pick up some kind of parasite while you were visiting Dominican Republic either from the water or possibly the food. Her body is fighting something foreign, that's why she's dealing with this fever for so long. If it's a virus the blood work should have shown something.

There is a instrument that a Natural Health Practioner can use to look in her eyes to see if she might have a parasite. If so, she'll be put on a series of herbs that will expel it. I have seen this happen many times after medical doctors have given up on a diagnosis for some people. One woman I'm thinking about went to see a friend of mine that prescribes herbs noticed the woman's eyes and knew she had parasites. She had been ill for a couple of years and nobody could imagine what was wrong with her and after spending thousands of dollars on medical tests. Once she was put on these herbs it took 10 days before the parasites started coming out of her and when they did there were hundreds that came out of her scalp. Yep, it was pretty gross but today this woman is as healthy as anybody I know.

I'm just guessing at this, it's pretty hard for me to really give advice without seeing your daughter and really knowing all the facts but that would be my first guess.

Honestly, I'm not trying to scare you but seeing a Natural Health Practioner at this time would be what I'd do if she were my daughter.

I'll keep you and your daughter in my prayers,

Grandma
