Home Remedy for Oily Sticky Dandruff

Hello Grandma,

I sincerely need your help with regards to my scalp.

I have a severe case of dandruff. I have to wash my hair every day due to which my hair is very scanty. I am 26 years old and planning to get married next year. I love my hair.. In one of your suggestions I read about a home made olive oil shampoo... Can u please help me with the method. Also I have recently moved to Dubai. Can it be possible that the weather is causing this. I also have stopped eating vegetables. Can u please recommend..

Oily Dandruff

Hello,

The first thing that has me wondering is why on earth you stopped eating vegetables? Vegetables are where you'd get most of your vitamins and minerals. You need these vitamins and minerals to have healthy skin, hair, nails and boost your immune system to fight many infections. Needless to say, my first suggestion is to start eating as many vegetables and fruits as you can everyday.

There could be many reasons that are causing your scalp to be so oily suddenly. Yes, it could be the water or weather in your new location, it could also be shampoo or something you're using on your hair, or even medication you may be taking right now. Stress can also cause this condition.

I don't make the olive oil shampoo at home, I buy it from a family that owns a farm and I really don't know how to make it myself. But I think what you should do to help your condition right now is to mix 1/2 cup of warm water with 1/2 cup of Apple Cider Vinegar and rinse your hair with it after shampooing and rinsing the soap out. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised at how healthy your hair will look after a short period of time. Don't worry about the odor, once your hair dries it will smell clean.
