Grandma's Headache Triggers

a yummy bowl of chocolate chip ice cream Through trial and error I finally found my own headache triggers. When dealing with a food allergy the first clue is whatever food you crave you can almost bet that is the food that will give you an allergic reaction. A headache is a mild reaction and I'm so glad I found my headache trigger before it got out of control and caused more serious symptoms.

Ice cream has always been a weakness for me. Dairy has always been my favorite food group but ice cream I craved. I noticed during the summer months my headaches became so much worse and of course that was when I ate the most ice cream. Once I realized I had a dairy allergy and started eliminating all diary products from my diet I felt in control of my headaches. The dairy headaches would sometimes develop into a migraine and I felt helpless. That was how I noticed I was still getting an occasional headache but I also noticed these headaches were different. I was experiencing what is known as a cluster headache. After keeping a record of when I got the headaches and what I was exposed to I realized I was having a reaction to a perfume a fellow worker was wearing.

Migraine headaches are so much more severe and debilitating and sometimes you need to take medication just to get through your day. Sometimes these medications can have side effects that can cause more symptoms and reactions. The sooner you put on your detective hat and pay attention to what your body is telling you, the sooner you'll be able to get past the medications.

After doing extensive research and consulting with a Natural Practitioner I started studying herbal remedies. Of course at that time my main interest was headache remedies and what herbs to use for my personal use. I quickly discovered there are herbal remedies that can be used while you're investigating and experimenting with your headache triggers.

Headache Remedies and Old Fashioned Herbs
Feverfew and Chamomile Tea for 90 days!

More and more people are discovering the dangerous side effects from the over-the-counter drugs and harsh prescriptions being prescribed for headache remedies. Especially when you're dealing with the elderly and children.

Herbal remedies are misunderstood. What most people don't realize is once you decide to start an herbal remedy you have to stick with it for several months. You may not even get headache relief right away it may take at least a couple of days. It's all together different than taking the quick pill that we have grown accustomed to and getting instant relief of symptoms. Then again, that magic pill is only treating the symptoms and not the cause. Herbal remedies treat the cause. Once the herbs start treating the cause and relieving the symptoms the body's immune system begins to cure itself.

Feverfew not only relieves the symptoms of a headache it also lubricates the ends of your nerves in your neck. This allows your neck muscles to relax and provide better circulation of blood to your brain. Make sure you buy your feverfew capsules from a company you trust. Take feverfew everyday for at least 90 days. You can buy feverfew capsules with a dosage that you will only need to take once a day or 3 times a day with meals.

Another herb that should be included in your headache remedies is chamomile. Chamomile is known to relax the nerves and relieve stress. Find a quiet place and time everyday to relax and enjoy a cup of chamomile tea. You can mix it with honey and lemon and even other types of tea to flavor, mint is excellent mixed with chamomile. You can also buy chamomile in an herbal capsule mix especially designed to relieve stress and promote relaxation.

Once I found my headache triggers and used these herbal remedies I can honestly say I've been totally free of headaches for the past 6 years. Yes, natural headache remedies take patience and persistence but it's worth your time to find the end result, which is the cure.
