What type of headache are you dealing with? Are your headaches always the same or do you deal with different types of headaches? There are probably as many different types of headaches as there are headache triggers. Read more about Home Remedies for Headaches and Understanding the Causes. The most important thing to remember is, headaches are not normal. No matter what people tell you, even your Dr., you should never think you are dealing with a normal headache. There is no such thing as a normal headache. Another thing to remember is, headaches are rarely coming from a serious condition, like a brain tumor. You may be surprised to know headache triggers are more often than not the cause of your headache. What do I mean by headache triggers? Headache Remedies begin with finding Headache Triggers. The most common headache triggers are:
It's time to put your detective hat on! Pay attention to what you were doing, where you were at or what you ate when you noticed a headache coming on. This is going to take some time and patience on your part. Your body will always give you the clues you need if you learn to pay attention. If you need to keep a log of what you eat or perhaps what chemicals you are using to clean your house or even what perfume you are wearing, it can all be a clue to your headache triggers. Are you drinking enough water, do you feel better when you're outside, are you exposed to a lot of noise or air pollution? Write everything down you notice doing before you got the headache. Your body will give you all the signals just pay attention!
Grandma's Headache TriggersThrough trial and error I finally found my own headache triggers. When dealing with a food allergy the first clue is whatever food you crave you can almost bet that is the food that will give you an allergic reaction. A headache is a mild reaction and I'm so glad I found my headache trigger before it got out of control and caused more serious symptoms. Ice cream has always been a weakness for me. Dairy has always been my favorite food group but ice cream I craved. I noticed during the summer months my headaches became so much worse and of course that was when I ate the most ice cream. Once I realized I had a dairy allergy and started eliminating all diary products from my diet I felt in control of my headaches. The dairy headaches would sometimes develop into a migraine and I felt helpless. That was how I noticed I was still getting an occasional headache but I also noticed these headaches were different. I was experiencing what is known as a cluster headache. After keeping a record of when I got the headaches and what I was exposed to I realized I was having a reaction to a perfume a fellow worker was wearing. Migraine headaches are so much more severe and debilitating and sometimes you need to take medication just to get through your day. Sometimes these medications can have side effects that can cause more symptoms and reactions. The sooner you put on your detective hat and pay attention to what your body is telling you, the sooner you'll be able to get past the medications. After doing extensive research and consulting with a Natural Practitioner I started studying herbal remedies. Of course at that time my main interest was headache remedies and what herbs to use for my personal use. I quickly discovered there are herbal remedies that can be used while you're investigating and experimenting with your headache triggers.
